Woodlands abound on the Burnett property. There are areas that were cut substantially about ten years ago and are in the process of regrowth. There are woods ready for harvest. The vegetation of the woodlands range from the floor covering to the tall trees. Ferns, mayapple, ginseng, yellowroot, bloodroot and many other plants flourish in harmony on the floor of the forest.
The tallest timber includes all varieties of oak, maple, beech, ash, poplar, locust, cherry and pine. Eastern cedar abounds. In the midst of all this, flowering trees such as dogwood, redbud, serviceberry, catalpa and hackberry reside.
